As more couples host their weddings outside the traditional church setting, the need for an officiant is increasing. This month’s featured vendor — Wedded Bliss Ceremony Officiant — offers just that. Owner Emily Peterson is an ordained wedding celebrant and offers custom ceremonies tailored to each couple.
Working with Wedded Bliss is so easy. After hiring, Peterson usually schedules a phone, video, or face-to-face chat with couples about two months out. During this meeting, Emily reviews the overall vision for the day, asks many questions to get to know them, gives the couple “homework” as needed, then returns home to write their ceremony draft from scratch. Peterson encourages each couple to be as hands-on or hands-off as they’re comfortable throughout the writing and editing process.
Wedded Bliss runs the ceremony rehearsal, officiates the ceremony, and takes care of the marriage license. Don’t know how to plan a custom wedding ceremony? She’s got you covered. Emily prides herself on making ceremonies unique, memorable, and exactly what each couple wants. She can do religious, secular, traditional, funky, long, short, or anything else a couple is looking for. Each couple’s vision is different, so Peterson helps them figure out what to include, from scripture to poetry or lyrics, old or modern, funny or romantic.
Plus, her experience with weddings makes her a wealth of knowledge. She has a ton of ideas of how to customize ceremonies and types of unity ceremonies. She’s orchestrated unique unity ceremonies including plant/soil, candles, colored sands, paints, and even crayon melting. Other cool things she’s incorporated include ring passing, handfasting, a community vow from the audience, and Mad Libs wedding vows.
And the best part— She also offers one-on-one vow assistance! She works with each partner separately to provide suggestions and ideas for vows, and she ensures each partner’s vows are similar in length and tone without spoiling what the other person has written.
